Our lead maker and chief creative behind Jo June is Lyndsey Dugan.

Lyndsey is a contemporary artisan and accomplished designer who lives and works in Fairmont, West Virginia. A native of Michigan she earned a Bachelor of Fine Art in Communication Design from the College for Creative Studies in Detroit. Dugan’s colorful hand-painted wooden jewelry pieces pay homage to the beauty of Appalachia and Great Lakes Regions. Her distinctive illustrative style is bold and fun, yet delicate.

Picturesque landscapes, waterscapes, floral, and geometric drawings are engraved into regional hardwood and delicately hand painted. While Dugan’s work is rooted in nature, sustainability, and play, she is inspired by the art nouveau movement, enamel work, and wood carvings. Each piece of jewelry is a work of wearable art brought to life with contrasting and harmonious colors and bold compositions.

Throughout her career Dugan has worked as an award-winning creative director and design professional for not-for-profit organizations and in higher education. Dugan started Jo June in 2021 to build a stronger connection with her personal creative process, her community, and family.
